The post with all the beach trips..
Sunday Feb. 12 Black Sand Beach.
Then again on Monday so I could grab some sand for my friend (in which she cried when I gave it to her).
Of course right when I tried to get a photo of the turtles, the waves kept photo-bombing me.
Still Monday, The Kapoho Tide Pools for snorkling.
Best place to see this guy.. The State Fish.. Humuhumunukunukuapua’a
Derek will have lots of video from here when he's done with it.
(Not my photo)
Wednesday Feb. 15. Pu'uhonua O Honaunau Nation Historical Park
aka A City of Refuge
This is your post-card Hawaii part.
This wall has stood for a long time (1550) and has weathered all kinds of storms.
There was a beach right next to it though that we did play in. Ryan got a sea urchin spine in his finger which apparently medical facilities in Hawaii don't really care to treat this type of injury.
We also went to a beach on Thursday right before Derek, Alicia, and Rachel were supposed to the manta ray drive (it was canceled due to an incoming storm). We got a lot of video but Derek is still working on that. We did a lot of body surfing and just enjoying the waves pull on us. There were lots of whale action too, which I was super excited about.
Friday Feb. 17 South Point, the most southern-est point in the US.
Didn't really hang out on a beach but it was the edge...
There are dolphins out there..
