That belongs in Nature's Museum! (Part 3 of teMples trip)

A Part Deux of the outdoor activities was needed due to the amount of awesomeness...

After leaving the most excellent dinosaur museum, headed started to head back home with a few pit stops.

Newspaper Rock
Going north on Highway 191 for 15-ish miles (past Monticello) you'll come to a junction with Highway 211 where you can turn to go towards Canyonlands National Park (look for the sign to say that).
You'll also see this rock.. we've named it Jabba the hut
See?
Turn here heading west.
Then you'll pass the Never Ending Story Dog on the left.
Right?!

That's how you'll know you went down the right road- DON'T take any other turn off of this road.
(Unless you want to get closer to this rock then go ahead)

So continue on down this road heading west for about 12-ish miles.
You'll see some signage for the rock.
Then you'll see the parking lot on your right.

It was so cool! There were so many signs, and a few of them we questioned if they were real or if kids messed with the rock at certain times. Still better than any stick figure I could do!
Totally worth the detour!

If we had time to drive the 22 miles left to go to Canyonlands, we would've hit up the Shay Canyon, Hog Canyon, and Fighting Men Petroglyphs areas. But alas, that is going to be saved for a different time to be spent entirely in the Canyonlands area.

Heading north again towards Moab, we stopped at this lil gem.
You can't see it but there's some kind of off road vehicle up on the rock area..
There's a house inside the rock, but from looking at the postcards in the gift area, and the over-priced tours, along with the "no photos aloud during the tour" signs, we passed on checking out the house.
It looked LAME sauce.
(not my photo) but this is what you see going south bound..
So we walked around the weird little garden area...

Jail cell
I thought this was funny.

Mator!
This... this was hilarious!
Made out of golf clubs

This jeep was the best! So awesome! Holy cow!
There was also a little zoo offering camel rides for $5.
We passed.

And since we were in Moab..
Drive through of Arches!
We hiked the Delicate Arch upper overlook, we didn't have time to hike the 3 miles to the real arch.

We are going to spend a weekend here next time,
instead of a few hours of doing a drive through.
A weekend might not even be enough to devote to the park,
but lucky us that Arches isn't that far away we can hit it up anytime we want!

We also did a pit stop at the Fallen Peace Officer Trail. When we go down for our weekend in Moab we'll bike this 14 mile loop for Tyler and his fallen brother's in blue.
