November 2018

The Month of November 2018

Red Ribbon Week visitors.. my classroom team.

Since Dad is no longer going overseas, we went to a Weber State game with Elise. She lasted THE ENTIRE GAME! We really thought we were going to have to tap out at half time but Elise was still going strong.

Update on Derek creating a bathroom.. we have solid floors and a wall.

Took my mom to see Phantom of the Opera at the high school.. holy moley it was amazing!! The high school always does a really good job with their plays.

Derek had surgery..

Ok so.. Ragnar only really snuggles with Derek if he has food.. but as soon as we came home from surgery, she wouldn't let him out of her sight. Even at night you could find Ragnar cuddled up next to Derek, it was so precious!
Seriously.. the way she would look at him to make sure that he was ok.. oh my heart!!

Thanksgiving morning we volunteered at a race for race credit. Much cheaper to spend a couple of hours of our time. Plus.. one of the locals brought me some hot coco and chatted with me while I waited at my post.

And we finished before it started raining.

Black Friday Turkey Burn at Striders Ogden.
Running while taking photos to send to Max.

Bonus coco! Also won a gift card to the store, which combined with the discount they gave everyone who ran, I basically got a new pair of running gloves for free ($0.45 was what I had to pay). Worth it!

Signing party for Ayden and Jorge! UVU bound!
We had lots of cake.. I mean LOTS OF CAKE.
I promised I would buy a UVU shirt but I'll always bleed Thunderbird Red!

Wool/ Copper Anniversary part 2

5) Craters of the Moon
Friday Oct, 19.
After breakfast at the hotel in Logan, we headed up to Idaho!
Derek's hip was bothering him so we didn't get to do much this time.

Dinner while we waited for it to get dark

Hung out at a park still waiting for it to get dark.
Hiked up the volcano.. waiting for it to get dark.

It got dark :) I'll have to share Derek's photos on a different post, they turned out really well!

6) Pando
Saturday Oct. 20
After hitting up a couple of geocaches, we checked out Pando!!!
Derek's hip was still bothering him that we didn't get to hike, just meander around a bit. Obviously we'll have to come back when the trees have leaves.

7) Capitol Reef
Saturday Oct. 20- Sunday Oct. 21
I've found my new favorite park! Zions will always hold a special place in my heart but, this park just.. wow..
Derek's hip was still bothering him so we only got to do one tiny "hike". Guess we'll just have to go back!

Wool/ Copper Anniversary part 1

Our original plans to go to Colorado got squashed and same for the sheep herder wagon (7 year gift is wool so...), thus a "stay-cation" of sorts happened instead.
