Spring Break 2016 Tennessee style!
Derek had school so it was just me who went back East.
The end point was Maryville, TN however if you want to sound like you're from the town, you have to pronounce the name like Murvul.. Kinda like 'Merca + Maryville..
Wednesday March 30
aka Airport day, because of the time change I spent the bulk of the day in airports.
First stop/layover was in Dallas for 3 hours. I walked around for about an hour and then found a yoga studio where I spent another hour.
When I landed in Atlanta.. it was NOT what I was expecting. There were trees EVERYWHERE! I was expecting a bigger city sprawled all over the place but it wasn't so.
We made a pit stop at Oakland Cemetery for only 10 minutes (wish we had more time!) but it's definitely a place you could spend a few hours exploring. We had temple plans we wanted to keep to so we only had a short time there.
The Capital drive by..
Everywhere you go there are signs telling you to lock your car so your not a victim, but we were lucky and a cop parked behind us to watch our car.
Olympic Torch drive by.. we really wanted to go to the Olympic park but temple plans were more important.
It was an adventure trying to find the Atlanta Temple. It reminded me of a Jordan River version from the 70's. Inside it reminded me of the Ogden Temple. We met a lot of amazingly cute people! Photos aren't that best, still trying to figure out the new camera in the twilight-clouded skies...
It sits atop a steep grass covered hill..
Afterwards we went to our hotel room and changed to go grab some dinner. We chose subway since it was just down the street. The worker was hilarious! He was having a lot of fun at his job & hooked up us with basically ALL the pickles. This dude is a super star.
We stayed up later than what we probably should have but it was worth it :)
