November 2018

The Month of November 2018

Red Ribbon Week visitors.. my classroom team.

Since Dad is no longer going overseas, we went to a Weber State game with Elise. She lasted THE ENTIRE GAME! We really thought we were going to have to tap out at half time but Elise was still going strong.

Update on Derek creating a bathroom.. we have solid floors and a wall.

Took my mom to see Phantom of the Opera at the high school.. holy moley it was amazing!! The high school always does a really good job with their plays.

Derek had surgery..

Ok so.. Ragnar only really snuggles with Derek if he has food.. but as soon as we came home from surgery, she wouldn't let him out of her sight. Even at night you could find Ragnar cuddled up next to Derek, it was so precious!
Seriously.. the way she would look at him to make sure that he was ok.. oh my heart!!

Thanksgiving morning we volunteered at a race for race credit. Much cheaper to spend a couple of hours of our time. Plus.. one of the locals brought me some hot coco and chatted with me while I waited at my post.

And we finished before it started raining.

Black Friday Turkey Burn at Striders Ogden.
Running while taking photos to send to Max.

Bonus coco! Also won a gift card to the store, which combined with the discount they gave everyone who ran, I basically got a new pair of running gloves for free ($0.45 was what I had to pay). Worth it!

Signing party for Ayden and Jorge! UVU bound!
We had lots of cake.. I mean LOTS OF CAKE.
I promised I would buy a UVU shirt but I'll always bleed Thunderbird Red!

November 2017

November 2017

There were some really nice fall days that we took full advantage of to go trail running... and chase some squirrels.

Nov. 3.
Coach P passed away. His funeral was held on Nov. 8.
It was the most interesting funeral I've ever been to- truly a celebration of his life from his native roots to his love of rock (no hymns, but some Poison, Ozzie, and Iron Maiden). His motorcycle group led the repression to his final resting place in Francis. Every family member we talked to, when we told them he was our coach they just responded with "ah, one of the survivors".

Nov. 4
Ragnar anniversary outing to Monte Cristo.

Elise has started this thing where she doesn't want me leaving and locks doors..

Nov. 10
Friends-giving-mas with a Comfort Foods theme.

Moving out Derek's old mattresses and Ragnar thought they were meant for her.

This happened.

Derek's grandpa turned 91.

Temple Square with Grandpa

My dad was taking the Clegg kids down to temple square the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
I invited myself to tag along.
We took the Front Runner down.

It was Elise's first time riding the train.
Playing old maid with shark cards and go fish with Garfield cards.

The Church History Museum.
I really enjoy this painting.

An original window from the Kirkland Temple.
Lifting a 30 lb block.

The death masks.

The pocket watch...

This is from the old DC tabernacle.

I really like this Mexican Nativity.

Kids play area... Ellie was getting grumpy.

Smashed some pennies.
To which Ellie had to pose with her Temple penny with the Temple.

City Creek for lunch.
Christmas music was playing so the girls were pretending their food was musical instruments.

Top of the Church Office Building.
Jordan wasn't doing so well with how high we were.

Took a tour of the "Supernackle" including the roof.

The best part was that I found the painting I've been wanting for the past few years tucked away in the corner hiding at the Church History Museum.  Granted the one I've been wanting is about $300 and much much larger, and this one was only $15 and 11x14. Now Derek and I need to find a Christ painting we both enjoy to have in our home.
